I know I can never avoid stress. Honestly, it is, in fact, part of my entire life, and I know that for sure. I also know it can affect my decisions and reactions to an everyday situation. It can bring bad vibes and an unpleasant amount of energy in a room. There is nothing entirely good about stress aside from the endurance and adrenaline it gives from time to time. However, due to specific instances where things fall apart, I have decided to leave everything as is. That instead of fight stress, I realized that isolation is a much better choice. Here are my reasons why.
Isolation To Avoid Toxicity – “Stress can seem omnipresent. Between working, socializing and taking care of the home, it sometimes seems we don’t have a minute to ourselves, let alone enough time to really take care of our bodies and minds.” says Sonja Seglin, LCPC. Not all people can appreciate things when they are alone. Some of them may think that it is a place where boredom and loneliness linger. But for me, it becomes a new door to create a much healthier comfort zone where toxicity gets excluded. I like it because when I am alone by myself, I can practice better thinking. I can surround myself with positive thoughts because there is nothing stressful to think about. I can aim for better emotional and mental stability that will become significantly important for my overall development.
No Room For Drama – There are types of stress that usually comes from other people. It is where they throw negative energy to my outgoing personality. Some of them are often anxious and depress that when they try to engage with me, their issues become mine. I hate to say this, but avoiding other people’s drama gets misjudged. Some think that I do not care to listen to their problems. But the truth is, I only want to save my mental health from their emotional crisis. I do not want to feel affected by their problems, so instead of listening, I chose not to engage.
Let Go Of Things – “Everyone handles positive and negative stress differently. Stressful situations can come from excessive thoughts of wanting and getting everything. The point that it is challenging to achieve everything I want, I know I have to let it go. But insisting on what is impossible is never going to help me or anyone. With that, the art of letting go is further essential than pushing my limits. I will never be guilty about choosing things that are not giving me any hard time.

Because with all the mental and emotional danger from the environment and social interaction, I can say I’m okay being alone. Seek outside help that ensures long-term benefits for your overall health and development. You can find the right support group in your community. Take time to talk to your friends and family about your situation. Ask for professional advice. Always think about surrounding yourself with positive people. “You know the ones—these are the people you know you can always call, text, or email when you need to feel a connection.” David Klow, a licensed therapist said.
